Contoso.PartnerPortal deploy error

Dec 12, 2009 at 1:09 AM

Hello,

When I deploy the Contoso.PartnerPortal project ( to update the site ) from Visual Studio, I got the follow error:

VSeWSS Service Error: No SharePoint Site exists at the specified URL: http://litwaredemo:9001/. The Web application at http://litwaredemo:9001/ could not be found. Verify that you have typed the URL correctly. If the URL should be serving existing content, the system administrator may need to add a new request URL mapping to the intended application.

Log file written to: C:\Documents and Settings\Default User\Application Data\Microsoft\VSeWSS 1.3\VSeWSS1.3 service.log  0 0

I checked the debug url and it's set to http://localhost:9001/. I tried following Kirk Evan's blog to change the access mapping and host header (http://blogs.msdn.com/kaevans/archive/2009/02/02/getting-started-with-visual-studio-extensions-for-windows-sharepoint-services-1-3-vsewss.aspx) and still get the same error.

Is this a vseWSS error?

Thanks.

Hong

Hi Hong,

we have provided ContosoSetup.bat to install our Reference Implementation(PartnerPortal), you can find contososetup.bat in setup\partnerPortal folder. Setup will Create all required WebApplications, sites and do activate all required Features. Deploy from Visual Studio will not create new WebApplication with 9001.

Thanks

Hi Appaji,

If I want to update the PartnerPortal projects and retract and redeploy the solution, do I run the setup scripts again? Thanks.

Hi Hong,

if you want to redeploy(right click on project and deploy ) from VS then  make sure your VseWss service App Identity has proper permissions to deploy/retract on partner portal site.

Thanks
