Best approach for registering type mappings in custom WCF

Mar 28, 2012 at 11:54 PM

I'm creating a custom WCF service and I was wondering what is the best approach to register type mappings in order to use my custom services through the Sharepoint Service Locator; in the examples in the Sharepoint Guidance library I see that those new type mappings are performed inside a feature receiver class. But what if I have a project where I have just the implementation of my custom WCF Service without features? I have to create a new feature with just the code inside the FeatureInstalled event handler?

Thanks for your feedbacks.

I respond to myself; the best approach is registering type mappings inside the feature receiver class just as indicated in the documentation.

Sorry for the late reply, but if you're looking for a way to handle area and categories without having to remember the strings...
