Will there be complete reference implemenations for SPG 2010?

We used a lot of code from Contoso Training Management RI from SharePoint guidance 2007. Will these reference implementations be ported to 2010?

We did not port the RI's but we did port the reusable library.  We had to make some breaking changes when we moved it, but it is a superset of the reusable library.  Did you use a lot of code outside of the reusable library?

First of all we borrowed the project and WSP structure - what goes to which project, files linkage, folders, features. Secondly we took repository infrastracture - base classes, interfaces, etc. All of this code from Training Managment was very valuable. It is too bad we are not going to get this or similar complete RI in SP 2010.

A lot of what you describe should just work.  For example, while we didn't port the repositories, there is no reason it should not just move over.  We did look at the repository in this release in the context of LINQ for SharePoint.

We do have RI's in this release as well, but we made the RI's smaller since one of the points of feedback we got was that the RI's were tough to get up and running rather than port the existing RI's.  We are shipping about 8-10 RI's this release that are more targeted.  We also will ship one quickstart, and about 30 howto's in addition to the guiide.

This was a hard choice, but we felt that it'd be better to move to a model where the RI's required less effort to understand, and easier to get up and running.
